Grambling State has extended an offer to New Orleans St. Augustine four-star defensive lineman Kyran Bourda.

Bourda is currently ranked as the No. 124 overall recruit in the 2023 cycle, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

He is also the 16th-best defensive lineman and 11th-best player in the state of Louisiana.

New Orleans St. Augustine is a football powerhouse with a great pedigree thanks to former players like Tyrann MathieuLeonard Fournette, and BenJarvus Green-Ellis.

Grambling’s new head coach is Hue Jackson. Jackson is a former NFL head coach who spent the past season working as the offensive coordinator for Eddie George at HBCU Tennessee State.

The Tigers finished the past season 4-7.

Kyran Bourda isn’t the only big name Grambling State has offered over the past few days

Following Deion Sanders’ lead at Jackson State, many other HBCUs have begun offering and trying to build relationships with some of the best players in the country.

Hue Jackson has been doing that as well. His offer to Kyran Bourda is not the first offer he’s extended to an elite prospect over the last few days.

Jackson offered Pittsburg (Calif.) four-star quarterback Jaden Rashada, a top-five quarterback in the 2023 cycle, on Sunday. He also offered Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) Dillard quarterback Davi Belfort, a highly-regarded 2025 signal caller, on Tuesday.

Two weeks ago, Jackson earned his first big recruiting win in landing 2022 Lancaster (Texas) three-star wide receiver Phaizon Wilson.

“Grambling has been making moves,” Wilson told On3’s Jeremy Johnson. “They just announced the new NIL deal. It’s not like we won’t be doing the same thing at a Power Five school. It will probably be a difference in money, but they’re about to do the same things.”
