Greg McElroy believes Texas has joined Georgia in top tier of college football
Texas‘ 31-12 win over Michigan on the road in Week 2 has penciled the Longhorns in as manys favorite to win the national championship this season. ESPN’s Greg McElroy puts Texas on par with the Georgia Bulldogs along the upper echelon of college football.
Heading into a calmer couple of weeks for the Longhorns before beginning SEC play on Sept. 28, McElroy explained why he hold the Longhorns in such high regard after downing the Wolverines in the Big House.
“Texas has officially joined Georgia as one of the most complete teams in the sport,” McElroy said after Week 2’s slate. “They look like a complete team, fast, physical, well coached, excellent in situations that would kind of showcase just how well coached they are. Poised, physical, I mean, you name it. If there is a positive attribute to apply to a team from this past weekend, Texas should likely get it.”
McElroy pointed out that the Longhorns converted on 80 percent (8/10) of their third down attempts in the first half as they headed into the locker room with a 24-3 lead.
