Miami went out to the West Coast for multiple big recruiting wins in the 2025 cycle. In November, the Hurricanes managed to flip Los Angeles Oaks Christian EDGE Hayden Lowe away from USC.

The addition of Lowe continues to look better and better for Mario Cristobal and Co. On Thursday, Lowe was named one of 10 new five-stars for the final edition of the 2025 On300 recruiting rankings. The 6-foot-5, 250-pounder now ranks No. 27 overall and No. 4 at the EDGE position.

Lowe is coming off a monstrous senior campaign at Oaks Christian. In 13 games, he tallied 59 total tackles and 16 sacks. He helped lead his team to nine wins in 2024 and a top-25 ranking in the talent-rich state of California.

His stock continued to rise earlier this month, too. Lowe was a top performer in San Antonio during Navy All-American Bowl week and he caught the attention of On3’s Scouting and Rankings team.

“The Navy All-American Bowl provided our first in-person evaluation of Lowe and the Miami signee looked like one of the top pass rushers on hand. At 6-foot-5, 250 pounds, Lowe has a big frame and looks to have added size over the past year. In addition to the stature, Lowe’s movement skills stood out,” Charles Power wrote.

“He is a twitchy athlete with his first-step quickness creating issues for opposing offensive linemen throughout 1-on-1’s and team periods in practice. Lowe showed some positional versality throughout the week, lining up at multiple spots along the defensive line. At a position where physical and athletic traits are at a premium, Lowe’s natural gifts stood out in San Antonio.”

Miami inked the ACC’s No. 1 recruiting class last month

According to the On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings, the nation’s No. 13 class and top-ranked class in the ACC is headed to Coral Gables. There are 12 blue-chippers in the class, with Lowe at the top of the list.

While he’s no longer staying in-state, Lowe feels like he found his college home at Miami. The Canes were persistent in their push for the Golden State standout and their patience eventually paid off.

“I feel like Miami has given me unwavering love since the start of my recruiting process,” Lowe told On3. “You know, since the start, USC hasn’t really given me all-in — I haven’t really been their No. 1 guy from the start. I became their No. 1 guy when other recruits decommitted, With U-Miami, I’ve been their No. 1 guy since the start. They love me. You’ve got to go where you’re wanted. I feel like I’m more wanted in Miami than LA.”

Lowe is one of two EDGEs in Miami’s class, alongside four-star Herbert Scroggins.
