Henry Parrish, Micah Pettus injury update: Broadcast updates status of Ole Miss stars vs. Kentucky
Ole Miss saw two key offensive contributors leave Saturday’s game against Kentucky with injuries. Henry Parrish and Micah Pettus both headed to the sideline, and the ABC broadcast had updates on both as the third quarter started to wind down.
Molly McGrath said the Ole Miss training staff wrapped Parrish’s left ankle, and he was planning to play the rest of the game. He returned on the third-quarter drive when the Rebels converted a 4th-and-7 to take the lead against Kentucky, but later left again after taking a bit hit in the fourth quarter.
As for Pettus, he planned to come back as a key piece of the Ole Miss offensive line. However, he was walking with a noticeable limp.
“You saw running back Henry Parrish hobble off with a lower body injury,” McGrath said. “He had his left ankle heavily taped, gave teammates a thumbs-up. I’m told he is good to go.
“Right tackle Micah Pettus also injured, went into the tent. Left with a noticeable limp. I’m told he will play, but he’s moving very gingerly, guys.”

Parrish anchored the Ole Miss running game during Saturday’s game, leading the team with 12 carries for 61 yards and a touchdown prior to his second departure. That put him ahead of Jaxson Dart for the team lead in rushing yards as Ole Miss went up against a stout Kentucky defense.
Consistency had to be the name of the game for the Rebels, though, according to Lane Kiffin. That was his point of emphasis as he headed to the locker room down 10-7.
“They do a good job. They’re really good, like I said all week,” Kiffin said at halftime. “These guys got really good players, and we’ve got to do a better job. We’ve taken some shots and we’ve missed them deep and so we’re going to have to make those and be more consistent.”
Ole Miss responded in kind. The Rebels tied things up with a field goal and, after Kentucky answered with one of its own, they got a turnover to set up a scoring drive. Tre Harris broke free and hauled in a nice pass from Dart, taking it to the end zone for a 48-yard score. That gave Ole Miss a 17-13 lead, which held into the fourth quarter.
