Jessica Fields, a highly-recruited prospect in the Class of 2025 and the younger sister of NFL quarterback Justin Fields, has committed to the Michigan Wolverines

“Michigan was great. Coach Justine [Raterman] got me in contact with them because she was at Marquette, and I’ve been in contact with them for four years,” Fields said. “We originally reached out because that’s where my brother was living and we kind of wanted to go to school close to him. When she moved to Michigan, she brought me up to them… I think they were actually one of the last schools to actually give me an offer, but I knew what they had to offer academically and their program has been pretty good. The girls were super nice and we had a little game night, so I got a good feel of the team dynamics and the culture.”

Fields chose Michigan over Northwestern and Georgetown. She visited each of the three programs, but ultimately decided Michigan was the best fit for her.

“I was ready to wrap up my recruitment process,” Fields told On3. “I started very early in eighth grade, so it’s been a very long process. I got to see both of my siblings go through it, so I always looked forward to when coaches would finally focus on me in visits instead of being the little sibling running around.”

There were four main factors Jessica Fields was seeking in a program: academics, player development, feeling wanted by the coaching staff and team culture. She found each at Michigan.

“At the end of the day, I just try to keep in mind that I’m going to be with these girls every day for the next four years, so I definitely want to be somewhere I feel comfortable and like they’re my second family,” Fields said.

Fields will join McKenzie Mathurin in the Wolverines’ 2025 recruiting class.
