Colorado star heavy Heisman favorite
A large part of that run was because of Michigan State signee Jase Richardson. The 6-foot-1 point guard, and son of former NBA dunk champion Jason Richardson, took the game over in the fourth quarter, attacking the basket and creating offensive plays for his team. Richardson finished with 20 points, 9 assists, six rebounds, and four steals. He was 8-12 from the field.
Five-star Plus+ forward Cameron Boozer added 26 points and seven rebounds while Cayden Boozer had 16, five, and three. Junior 4-star Kayden Mingo led the way for Long Island Lutheran with 19 and VJ Edgecombe had 16.
Signees from Duke and Kentucky faceoff
The first game of the day, 10:30 AM, featured five-star small forward Isaiah Evans, a Duke signee, and four-star small forward Billy Richmond, a Kentucky signee. It was an intriguing matchup as both players are the clear stars on their public school teams. The added storylines came from the fact they are similar in size and positions and they are committed to two of the bluest of blue bloods in the college basketball landscape.
Evans, a noted volume scorer had flashes of his shot-making here. When his feet were set and he was able to gather his balance, the shots went in. When he shot off movement or tried to create off the bounce, the shot was off he had a tough time creating clean looks for himself going for 22 points on 7-22 shooting and 3-10 from three.

Richmond took a quarter-and-a-half to get ramped up but settled into a smooth flow. The lengthy 6-foot-6 wing looked comfortable with the ball in his hands. He showed in the second half that he could knock down a jump shot comfortably. This had been a swing skill for Richmond’s overall progression, but the lefty looked comfortable stepping into multiple twos and threes. He played with a good pace and was not rushed. Richmond also scored his 1,000th career high school point while scoring 26 points on 9-18 from the field and 4-5 from three.
Evans is ranked No. 28 in the current 2024 On3 150 and Richmond No. 25.
