Houston Basketball: Cedric Lath commits to Cougars, Kelvin Sampson

Cedric Lath, a 6-foot-10 class of 2023 three-star center out of Escondido (Calif.) Balboa has committed and signed with Houston.
The big man ultimately chose the Cougars over BYU and Texas. He also received offers from Arizona and UConn.
Lath is Houston’s fourth addition to their recruiting class. He joins four-star forward Joseph Tugler (No. 59), four-star center Jacob McFarland (No. 93), and four-star guard Kordelius Jefferson (No. 108).

Lath ranks as the No. 146 overall prospect in the 2023 class, according to the On3 Consensus, the average ranking from all four major recruiting media companies. He’s also the No. 15 center nationally.
Lath on his commitment to Houston
“I chose Houston because of the way they play,” Lath said to On3. “The way I play is the same as Houston. It’s all about defense first. I think they will do a very good job in my development. Go Coogs!”
