Houston transfer DL Hakeem Ajijolaiya commits to TCU
Former Houston defensive lineman Hakeem Ajijolaiya has committed to TCU out of the NCAA transfer portal, On3 has learned.
He played all 12 games at nose guard for the Cougars this season, tallying 21 total tackles including 10 solo and one pass defended. During his three-year career in Houston, Ajijolaiya totaled 27 tackles along with one sack recorded back in 2021. He’ll look to have a greater role with the Horned Frogs after proving his worth last season.
Ajijolaiya was a three-star recruit coming out of the high school ranks, according to the On3 Industry Rankings, which is a proprietary algorithm that compiles ratings and rankings from all four primary recruiting media services. He was the No. 1,316 player in the 2019 class, checking in as the No. 126 defensive lineman in his respective class.
The Katy, TX native will have two seasons of eligibility remaining to play for the Horned Frogs out of the NCAA transfer portal and will stay in-state and within the Big 12 Conference.
One season ago, TCU finished the year 5-7, missing out on the postseason one year after Sonny Dykes led the Horned Frogs to the 2023 College Football Playoff National Championship Game. Ajijolaiya’s addition will help them on their way to getting back to that mark this coming season.

Alabama IOL transfer James Brockermeyer commits to TCU
Former Alabama Crimson Tide interior offensive lineman James Brockermeyer has a new home for the 2024 college football season. On Tuesday, Brockermeyer announced his commitment to play for the TCU Horned Frogs next season.
The news of the former Crimson Tide center’s commitment should not come as too much of a surprise to those closely following the story. Less than 72 hours ago, it was reported that Brockermeyer was expected to commit to TCU. Now, things can change dramatically within a 72-hour window, especially when it comes to the NCAA transfer portal. But fortunately for TCU and their head coach Sonny Dykes, they have won the lottery when it comes to acquiring the services of this former high-end recruit from the 2021 recruiting class.
Brockermeyer played high school football at All Saints Episcopal (Texas), where he was a four-star prospect. He was the No. 234 overall recruit in the 2021 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
