When Miami and Texas A&M face off Saturday night in College Station, two programs in very different places will be taking the field.
The Aggies came into this season with sky-high expectations after knocking off No. 1 Alabama last season and then signing the best recruiting class in the modern era a few months later. All is not well in Aggieland, though. After an embarrassing loss to Appalachian State last weekend, which followed a less-than-impressive win over Sam Houston State, Jimbo Fisher and Co. badly need this one.

On the other side, Miami is looking for its first “prove it” win under first-year head coach Mario Cristobal, who took over in December. The Hurricanes have some juice both on the field and the recruiting trail right now, and a win Saturday at Kyle Field would do a lot for both of those things.
How these two teams ultimately match up will be decided on the field, but their recruiting histories present an interesting picture. In addition to the Aggies’ top-ranked class last year, they’ve finished no worse than 7th nationally in the On3 Consensus Team Recruiting Rankings since 2019. Miami, meanwhile, only has one top-10 finish in that same time frame, and Cristobal has relied on a number of transfers he brought in this offseason to improve the roster.
Here’s how the two teams and projected starting lineups match up as recruits:
