Hudson Clark injury update: Arkansas DB received MRI for back injury
Arkansas Razorbacks head coach Sam Pittman shared an injury update on defensive back Hudson Clark, explaining that he needed to get an MRI for his back.
Clark started to deal with the back issues in the game against the Oklahoma State Cowboys. That forced him to play limited snaps on special teams and took him off the field entirely while the Razorbacks were on defense.
“Back. He hurt his back,” Sam Pittman said. “He did come back and played special teams, but I don’t think he felt well enough to play defensively. But he did play on kickoff and kickoff return and a few reps on field goal block.”
Arkansas could have used help, especially in the second half of the loss to Oklahoma State in the secondary. After giving up 24 points in the second half, the Razorbacks ended up dropping the game in overtime. Cowboys quarterback Alan Bowman, meanwhile, finished the game with 326 passing yards.

“He’s got a sore back, and we went to get him an MRI today,” Pittman said. “As of this time, I haven’t gotten the results of that, but he came in for treatment yesterday. I love the kid. He was playing really well too on defense. Had a really nice pass breakup.”

Now, Sam Pittman isn’t sure if Hudson Clark is going to be able to play next week when the Razorbacks host the UAB Blazers.
“But we’ll see. Thanks for asking but we’ll see,” Pittman concluded.
Hudson Clark came to Arkansas as a walk-on in 2019. He didn’t play in any games that season but began to see action in 2020. Since then, he’s become a key piece of the Arkansas secondary and is now on the Reese’s Senior Bowl watchlist and was a First-Team Academic All-American in 2023.
During his time at Arkansas, Hudson Clark has played in 47 games. He has 187 total tackles, five interceptions, and 20 passes defended. If he is unable to play, it would be a major loss for the Razorbacks defense.
