WATCH: Indiana fans storm court following upset win over Purdue, Rece Davis calls them out
“Hoosier Hysteria” took on a whole new meaning Saturday as Indiana knocked off No. 1 Purdue at home. That set off a celebration on the court when the clock hit zeroes.
The Boilermakers led the Hoosiers 5-3 early in the game, but Indiana took the lead shortly after and never looked back en route to the 79-74 victory. That handed Purdue its second loss of the year — both in Big Ten play — in the hostile environment that was a sold-out Assembly Hall.
It was a sea of red after the final buzzer sounded.
The decision to storm the court didn’t sit well with ESPN host Rece Davis, though. He called out the Hoosiers faithful during the pregame show for Duke vs. North Carolina, which followed Indiana-Purdue.
“I’m not in love with this court storming because they’re Indiana, man,” Davis said. “They beat No. 1, haven’t done it in 10 years. But they’re Indiana.”
Analyst Seth Greenberg, who was on the panel for the show, was on the same page with Davis. He doesn’t think Indiana should storm the court considering the program’s history of winning.

“I agree with that,” Greenberg said. “As the Commissioner of Court Storming, you’re Indiana. They’re No. 1, it’s your in-state rival. But you’re Indiana. Come on man.”
Indiana got some huge performances in the victory, led by Trayce Jackson-Davis, who scored 25 points, pulled down seven rebounds and totaled five blocks to lead the Hoosiers. Jalen Hood-Schifino was close behind with 16 points, including some big-time shots down the stretch as Purdue cut things close.
The Boilermakers got yet another double-double out of Zach Edey, who had a game-high 33 points and 18 rebounds — 10 defense and eight offensive — to give the Indiana defense headaches as he continued to make his case for National Player of the Year. It marked Edey’s 19th double-double of the season.
