Indiana flips coveted in-state pass rusher Tyrone Burrus from Louisville
Indianapolis (Ind.) Warren Central edge rusher Tyrone Burrus tells On3 he has flipped his commitment from Louisville to Indiana.
“It was really the coaches and I personally know the players I will be playing along with,” Burrus added.
The 6-foot-4, 215-pound Burrus had been committed to Louisville since June. He becomes commit No. 21 for head coach Curt Cignetti and the Hoosiers in the 2025 cycle.
The On3 Industry tabs Burrus as the nation’s No. 46 edge rusher and No. 9 prospect overall in the Hoosier State. He has 42 tackles including nine stops for loss and six sacks for a 10-1 team playing in the Regional Championship this Friday.

Defensive line coaches Pat Kuntz and Buddha Williams were the lead recruiters.
“It’s special,” Burrus said. “I’ve been messing with IU for a while now and I’m glad I could make it home. It was Coach Buddha and Pat they both give me the same feeling I have with my high school coaches right now. It’s the same feeling I get from them.
Burrus has visited Indiana several times this fall including the recent win over Michigan.
“IU is on to something and proving that they mean business in the Big Ten,” Burrus said. “I believe he’s just a great coach. He brought all his guys from the other college they were at and went to work.”
