Indianapolis (Ind.) Warren Central 2027 safety Kaleb Elkins has seen his recruitment take off.

The Hoosier State product has picked up offers this calendar year from Indiana, Purdue, Kentucky and Vanderbilt with several other programs showing interest. Alabama is at the school on Thursday.

“He will blow up even more this spring,” Warren Central head coach J.T. Whitaker said. “He will be a two-way guy for us at Warren so he could end up being a Mark Zackery level kid.”

Zackery played at rival high school Ben Davis and committed to Notre Dame as part of the Irish’s 2025 class. Similar to Zackery who shined in basketball, Elkins is busy all year competing for Warren Central.

“He is a three-sport athlete who started on basketball team and jumps 22-plus feet on the track,” Whitaker said. “In football I love that he has the hitting ability of a safety and the cover ability of a top end corner. He is legit 6-2 with long arms and can windmill dunk a basketball. At wide receiver he has natural hands and is going to win most 50/50 balls.

“The dude is special. Best part is he is a great kid and student.”

As a sophomore the 6-foot-3, 182-pound Elkins had 32 tackles, six interceptions and seven more passes defended.
