InterMat College Wrestling Individual Rankings updated after Week 17
InterMat released its final set of college wrestling individual rankings after Week 17 of action. The regular season (dual calendar) is over.
Now, it’s time to get ready for the individual postseason. The conference tournaments are a little more than a week away and the journey to Kansas City is on!
Let’s dive into InterMat’s latest college wrestling rankings following the end of the regular season.
125 pounds
1. Matt Ramos – Purdue (1)
2. Drake Ayala – Iowa (4)
3. Luke Stanich – Lehigh (2)
4. Patrick McKee – Minnesota (5)
5. Eric Barnett – Wisconsin (6)
6. Cooper Flynn – Virginia Tech (3)
7. Stevo Poulin – Northern Colorado (9)
8. Caleb Smith – Nebraska (7)
9. Braeden Davis – Penn State (8)
10. Jakob Camacho – NC State (14)
Ramos is the No. 1 going into the postseason but there were some shifts. Ayala is up two spots and Stanich is down one. Camacho is back in the top 10 with a 13-4 record and moved up four spots.
133 pounds
1. Ryan Crookham – Lehigh (1)
2. Vito Arujau – Cornell (2)
3. Daton Fix – Oklahoma State (3)
4. Kai Orine – NC State (4)
5. Dylan Ragusin – Michigan (5)
6. Nasir Bailey – Little Rock (6)
7. Evan Frost – Iowa State (7)
8. Dylan Shawver – Rutgers (8)
9. Michael Colaiocco – UPenn (9)
10. Nic Bouzakis – Ohio State (10)
The top 10 remained the same after the final weekend of dual meets. Crookham is still undefeated as is Fix. Arujau is 10-1 but maintains the second spot. This weight class is well represented across conferences.
141 pounds
1. Beau Bartlett – Penn State (1)
2. Real Woods – Iowa (2)
3. Jesse Mendez – Ohio State (3)
4. Ryan Jack – NC State (4)
5. Lachlan McNeil – North Carolina (5)
6. Brock Hardy – Nebraska (7)
7. Anthony Echemendia – Iowa State (9)
8. Cael Happel – Northern Iowa (6)
9. Tagen Jamison – Oklahoma State (8)
10. Sergio Lemley – Michigan (10)
The top five remained the same this week but Happel moved down to eight. Hardy goes up one spot and Echemendia is up two spots. Otherwise, the top 10 remained the same crop, just some shifts.
149 pounds
1. Ridge Lovett – Nebraska (1)
2. Caleb Henson – Virginia Tech (2)
3. Kyle Parco – Arizona State (4)
4. Austin Gomez – Michigan (5)
5. Jackson Arrington – NC State (3)
6. Casey Swiderski – Iowa State (6)
7. Ty Watters – West Virginia (7)
8. Caleb Rathjen – Iowa (8)
9. Tyler Kasak – Penn State (9)
10. Dylan D’Emilio – Ohio State (10)
This was an interesting set this week as Lovett remained No. 1 despite losing to Parco. It was the Husker’s first loss of the season. There are no more unbeatens at 149 but it’s the same crop of top 10 wrestlers.
157 pounds
1. Levi Haines – Penn State (1)
2. Vince Zerban – Northern Colorado (2)
3. Jacori Teemer – Arizona State (3)
4. Michael Blockhus – Minnesota (4)
5. Jared Franek – Iowa (5)
6. Meyer Shapiro – Cornell (6)
7. Peyton Robb – Nebraska (7)
8. Daniel Cardenas – Stanford (8)
9. Bryce Andonian – Virginia Tech (9)
10. Teague Travis – Oklahoma State (10)
The top 10 went unchanged this week as Haines and Zerban remained the lone unbeatens here. However, this class goes pretty deep despite Haines (last year’s runner up) being a substantial favorite.
165 pounds
1. Keegan O’Toole – Missouri (1)
2. David Carr – Iowa State (2)
3. Julian Ramirez – Cornell (4)
4. Dean Hamiti – Wisconsin (5)
5. Mitchell Mesenbrink – Penn State (6)
6. Mikey Caliendo – Iowa (7)
7. Izzak Olejnik – Oklahoma State (3)
8. Peyton Hall – West Virginia (8)
9. Caleb Fish – Michigan State (9)
10. Cameron Amine – Michigan (10)
O’Toole was one of eight sick wrestlers for Mizzou over the weekend and did not wrestle Carr for a fourth time. But it’s pretty clear they’re the two best at 165 and could meet in the NCAA finals once again. Mesenbrink is undefeated and could be a spoiler this postseason, if not make a run to the finals.

1. Carter Starocci – Penn State (1)
2. Mekhi Lewis – Virginia Tech (2)
3. Shane Griffith – Michigan (3)
4. Cade DeVos – South Dakota State (4)
5. Phil Conigliaro – Harvard (5)

7. Patrick Kennedy – Iowa (7)
8. Edmond Ruth – Illinois (8)
9. Adam Kemp – Cal Poly (9)
10. Peyton Mocco – Missouri (10)
Starocci suffered a knee injury during his tech fall win over Edinboro. There are whispers if he’ll even wrestle at Big Tens. To get an at-large bid to NCAAs, the three-time national champ will have to physically show up and medically forfeit on the mat, leading to two losses.
There’s a larger conversation about his seeding for NCAAs if that’s the case. However, he remained the No. 1 in a top 10 that did not change this week.
184 pounds
1. Parker Keckeisen – Northern Iowa (1)
2. Dustin Plott – Oklahoma State (2)
3. Lenny Pinto – Nebraska (3)
4. Trey Munoz – Oregon State (4)
5. Isaiah Salazar – Minnesota (5)
6. Bernie Truax – Penn State (6)
7. Chris Foca – Cornell (7)
8. Bennett Berge – South Dakota State (12)
9. Reece Heller – Pittsburgh (9)
10. Dylan Fishback – NC State (10)
The top six didn’t move but there were some shifts below Truax. Foca is back up to No. 7 and Berge and Heller moved up as well. Fishback dropped three spots this week. Keckeisen is the lone unbeaten at 23-0.
197 pounds
1. Aaron Brooks – Penn State (1)
2. Trent Hidlay – NC State (2)
3. Michael Beard – Lehigh (3)
4. Jaxon Smith – Maryland (4)
5. Tanner Sloan – South Dakota State (5)
6. Stephen Buchanan – Oklahoma (6)
7. Louie DePrez – Binghamton (9)
8. Jacob Cardenas – Cornell (7)
9. Stephen Little – Little Rock (8)
10. Rocky Elam – Missouri (10)
The top six are the same and Brooks and Hidlay are both undefeated. DePrez moved up two spots while Cardenas dropped. Little also moved down one spot.
285 pounds
1. Greg Kerkvliet – Penn State (1)
2. Wyatt Hendrickson – Air Force (2)
3. Yonger Bastida – Iowa State (3)
4. Cohlton Schultz – Arizona State (4)
5. Zach Elam – Missouri (5)
6. Lucas Davison – Michigan (6)
7. Nick Feldman – Ohio State (7)
8. Nathan Taylor – Lehigh (8)
9. Taye Ghadiali – Campbell (9)
10. Josh Heindselman – Oklahoma (10)
The top 10 remained the same this week and there are three undefeated wrestlers: Kerkvliet, Hendrickson and Bastida. Ghadiali is an astounding 30-3 for Campbell, so watch out for him this postseason.
