There are some talented quarterbacks, like Nico Iamaleava, in the Class of 2023. On3 looks at the top 10 quarterbacks in the Class of 2023 and where things stand in their recruitment. (Chad Simmons/On3)

With Signing Day in the rearview mirror for the Class of 2022, the attention now turns to the junior class. It’s a class that features three Five-Star Plus+ prospects. It also includes a handful of potential program-changing quarterbacks. On3 looks at the top-10 quarterbacks and where things stand in their recruitment.

No. 1 quarterback Arch Manning

New Orleans Isidore Newman
On3 Consensus
: No. 1
On3 NIL Valuation: $1.6M
Status: Uncommitted
On3 RPM: Georgia 34.6%, Alabama 26.7, Texas 18.9% Ole Miss 11.1%
On3+ Early Intel: Arch Manning’s recruitment is likely to go at least into the summer, possibly into the season. Georgia, Alabama, Texas and Ole Miss are expected to get spring visits, but newcomers might emerge.

No. 2 QB Malachi Nelson

Los Alamitos (Calif.) High
On3 Consensus
: No. 2
On3 NIL Valuation: $88K
Status: Committed to USC
On3+ Early Intel: Malachi Nelson flipped from Oklahoma to USC after Lincoln Riley landed in the Southland. He will be the ringleader for USC’s 2023 class, especially with other top Southern California players.

No. 3 quarterback Nico Iamaleava

Warren (Calif.) Downey
On3 Consensus
: No. 11
On3 NIL Valuation: $52K
Status: Uncommitted
On3 RPM: Tennessee 15.1%, Georgia 15.1%, Alabama 15.1%, UCLA 15.1%, Miami 5.3%, Ohio State 5.3%, Oregon 5.3%, Notre Dame 5.3%, Ole Miss 5.3%
On3+ Early Intel: Nico Iamaleava is from the West Coast, but he is intrigued by schools in the SEC, along with Miami, Oregon and UCLA. It will be interesting to see if he wants to commit before Manning, or does he wait to see what happens in that recruitment?

No. 4 QB Dante Moore

Detroit Martin Luther King
On3 Consensus
: No. 17
On3 NIL Valuation: $38K
Status: Uncommitted
On3 RPM: Michigan State 31.5%, Notre Dame 19.1%, Michigan 19.1%, Penn State 9.7%, Oregon 3.4%, Ohio State 3.4%, Florida State 3.4%, Miami 3.4%
On3+ Early Intel: National teams are pursuing Dante Moore, but it’s hard to see him venturing too far away from B1G territory. In-state Michigan State has done a masterful job recruiting him so far, but will he decide to head out of state?

No. 5 quarterback Jaden Rashada

Pittsburg (Calif.) High
On3 Consensus
: No. 45
On3 NIL Valuation: $34K
Status: Uncommitted
On3 RPM: Penn State 24.8%, Ole Miss 24.8%, Oregon 24.8%, UCLA 8.7%, Washington 8.7%
On3+ Early Intel: Penn State, Ole Miss and Oregon have all made Jaden Rashada a priority. But it will be interesting to see how the quarterback dominoes fall. That’s because all three schools also have other targets at the position. Does he wait it out or want to commit before some others on this list?

No. 6 QB Dylan Lonergan

Snellville (Ga.) Brookwood
On3 Consensus
: No. 86
On3 NIL Valuation: $22K
Status: Uncommitted
On3 RPM: North Carolina 25.4%, Georgia 15.4%, Georgia Tech 15.4%, South Carolina 15.4%, Auburn 7.8%, Alabama 7.8%
On3+ Early Intel: Dylan Lonergan was recently at Stanford and plans on taking visits to Alabama and Ohio State in March. LSU, South Carolina, North Carolina and a host of other programs are working to get on his spring visit schedule.

No. 7 QB Jackson Arnold

Denton (Texas) Guyer
On3 Consensus
: No. 91
On3 NIL Valuation: $34K
Status: Committed to Oklahoma
On3+ Early Intel: After Nelson flipped from the Sooners, the new coaching staff in Norman immediately zeroed in on Jackson Arnold. He’s gone to work right away at helping target other top offensive players for the Sooners.

No. 8 QB Eli Holstein

Zachary (La.) High
On3 Consensus
: No. 98
On3 NIL Valuation: $29K
Status: Committed to Texas A&M
On3+ Early Intel: As one of the centerpieces for Texas A&M’s 2023 class, Eli Holstein has been recruiting hard. He said his goal is to help A&M land another No. 1 recruiting class.

No. 9 QB Christopher Vizzina

Birmingham (Ala.) Briarwood Christian
On3 Consensus
: No. 99
On3 NIL Valuation: $35K
Status: Uncommitted
On3 RPM: Clemson 10.5%, Kentucky 10.5%, Ole Miss 10.5%, Notre Dame 10.5%, Tennessee 10.5%, Alabama 10%, Georgia 10%
On3+ Early Intel: Christopher Vizzina says he’s in no rush to make a decision and it appears that spring will be important for him to look around at schools high on his list. He said he loves speaking with the coaches and taking unofficial visits, but he wants to see the program in action. That’s where the practice visits come into the picture.

No. 10 QB Pierce Clarkson

Bellflower (Calif.) St. John Bosco
On3 Consensus
: No. 162
On3 NIL Valuation: $39K
Status: Committed to Louisville
On3+ Early Intel: Pierce Clarkson announced his commitment to Louisville in a unique way – on billboards throughout the city. He has already taken on a leadership role in the Cards 2023 class and is actively recruiting other top California players to join him in Louisville.
