Iowa junior shooting guard Josh Dix plans to enter the NCAA Transfer Portal after three seasons with the Hawkeyes.

His decision comes after the firing of head coach Fran McCaffrey, who had been at the helm in Iowa City for 15 seasons. The Hawkeyes missed the NCAA Tournament for a second straight season this year though, leading to McCaffrey’s eventual ouster.

Dix signed with Iowa as a three-star recruit in the Class of 2022 and has been one of the country’s deadliest sharpshooters this season. He was the team’s second-leading scorer in 2024-25, pouring in 14.4 points per game while shooting 51% from the field and 42% from behind the arc.

The 6’5 scorer will have one year of eligibility remaining at his next destination.
