2026 Five-Star Plus+ OT Jackson Cantwell visits Miami
For the first time amidst his jam-packed recruitment, Nixa (Mo.) Five-Star Plus+ offensive tackle Jackson Cantwell is visiting Miami.
The 6-foot-7.5 trench monster has arrived at Hard Rock Stadium as the Hurricanes near kickoff against Duke on Saturday afternoon. Cantwell, the No. 2 overall prospect in the 2026 cycle, is one of three junior five-star recruits expected in Coral Gables.
Cantwell has stayed busy all year long, logging visits to some of the top programs in the nation as he continues to work through his process. The likes of Missouri, Nebraska, Alabama, Georgia, LSU and Oregon have caught his attention thus far. Miami will look to do the same this weekend.
“I’m not talking to as many (coaches) as I was anymore, just because I’m definitely trying to figure this out a little bit, but I’ve still got a decent amount in my communication,” Cantwell told On3 last month. “I’m talking to Missouri, Alabama, Georgia, LSU, Nebraska, Oregon. Talking to Miami, Texas A&M some … I’ve been talking to a lot of schools.”
Cantwell has been itching to get down to Miami and interact with touted OL coach Alex Mirabal and the Canes staff. He previewed his trip with CaneSport earlier this week.

“Their general message to me is they can develop me and turn me into a great football player at the college level and I would like a lot of stuff they have in Miami,” Cantwell said.
Junior five-star EDGE Anthony Jones and five-star tight end Kendre Harrison are among those also expected to be in attendance on Saturday. Cantwell will be surrounded by some of the nation’s top prospects as he watches the Canes attempt to remain undefeated this season.
“Their success this year and historically successful culture is exciting,” Cantwell said of Miami. “They also have a great offensive line coach in Coach Mirabal and offensive line-minded head coach in Coach Cristobal.”
Jackson Cantwell Scouting Summary
On3 writes this of Cantwell as a prospect:
“Big-framed offensive tackle with eye-popping athleticism and functional strength as a high school underclassman. Measured at over 6-foot-7, 205 pounds prior to his sophomore season. Has solid length with 33.5-inch arms and big hands. Owns a phenomenal athletic profile as one of the top shot put throwers in the country for his age group. Posted a personal best throw of over 64 feet as a freshman. Also posted strong testing numbers in the college camp setting. Transfers those gifts over to the football field where he shows strong coordination and function strength. Moves well laterally and plays with a good anchor. Initially began his career as a tight end and has grown into an offensive tackle. Has deep athletic bloodlines with both parents being Olympic track and field athletes as throwers. Younger for the cycle with a May birthday.”
