4-star Jackson Keith talks recruitment with visits on his mind
Jackson Keith is the No. 33 player in the 2025 On3 50. The 6-foot-5 wing at Durham (NC) Southern Durham High has started his sophomore season off with back-to-back 22-point performances.
“I think my jump shot came a long way through the Summer,” Keith told On3. “My mid-range game is a strength for me right now; I love getting to my mid-range and letting that open up the game for me. A lot of people say I play like a young Keldon Johnson. They say I have the same motor and frame as Keldon, some of the same shots as him.”
On3 caught up with Jackson Keith to talk about the early stages of his recruitment.
“I visited East Carolina recently,” Keith said. “I’ll go back up to Virginia soon. I’m trying to set something up with Virginia Tech too.”
Keith talks recruitment
East Carolina: “They got a new coach, and everyone is really excited around the program. They think they’re going to be able to get the program back to an elite level.”
Virginia: “The culture there is great. They never would lie to me; all the coaches there are really genuine. Tony Bennett is just a great guy too. They haven’t offered yet, but they like I’m a long wing, can make some shots, and guard the other team’s best player. Their defense is what makes them Virginia.”
Virginia Tech: “It’s not that far from home, a neighboring state, and they always make me feel at home. I like their culture up there too.”

“I’ve heard a lot from NC State and Wake Forest,” Keith said. “I also recently heard from Tennessee. I think they all could be close to offering.”
In Keith’s words
“I want to play for a coach who, first and foremost, wants to win games,” Keith said. “Play for someone who will develop players and have fun. The whole thing is about getting better and having fun. Going to a program with a great culture where guys like being around each other. Wherever I find that, that is where I’ll go.
“I want to play in a system where the coach gives their guys a lot of freedom and lets his guys just make plays. But honestly, I think I can play in any system.”
Scouting report
Jackson Keith is a confident wing. Standing around 6-foot-5, he can handle, get into his spots, and shoot with range. The jump shot can get a little flat at times, but he has good footwork in the mid-range. He is confident as a secondary initiator and can get a team into sets. Keith is a solid athlete, still growing into his frame. His father, Craig Keight, was an NFL tight end. Keith is trending as a national level-type recruit.
