Jacksonville State’s Jaron Pierre Jr. scored more points than anyone else in college basketball this season. Now, he’ll be continuing his career elsewhere either in college or in the pros.

Per sources speaking with Jon Rothstein as well as reporting by On3’s Pete Nakos, Pierre will be entering his name into the NCAA Transfer Portal with Nakos noting he has done so with a do not contact tag. With that, he’ll also be declaring himself for the 2025 NBA Draft per Rothstein.

Pierre just finished his fifth collegiate season in total with a pair apiece at Southern Miss and Wichita State with this past one being his first with Jacksonville State. In 118 games at the three schools with four total seasons played, Pierre has averaged 13.4 points, 3.9 rebounds, and 2.1 assists.

However, Pierre broke out as a redshirt senior with the Gamecocks. He averaged 21.6 points per game, which was fourth-most in the entire sport, 5.5 rebounds, and 3.8 assists on career-best shooting clips of 42.4% from the field and 38.2% from three. The 777 points he scored were also the most in all of the NCAA. That won him Player of the Year in Conference USA and earned him a spot on the All-CUSA First Team.

Pierre was one of the top overall scorers at the collegiate level in ’24-’25. He’ll now be available for a fourth program to add for his sixth season – if he doesn’t end up in the association, that is.
