Jacolb Cole, freshman Shelton Henderson star in playoff win
KATY, Texas – On3 Consensus four-star forward Jacolb Cole and 2025 guard Shelton Henderson starred in Tuesday night’s playoff win for Bellaire (Texas) over Cypress (Texas) Cy Creek.
The nearly 6-foot-8 Cole led all scorers with 23 points to go along with eight rebounds and two blocked shots.
The junior, who has made official visits to LSU and Nebraska, played under control with good pace all night. He showed the ability to play off the bounce going left or right, although he can get tighter with the ball against high-end pressure defense. Cole raised up and knocked down a 22-footer going right with a hand in the face, and did the same in the mid-range going left.
Cole made a number of key plays down the stretch when the outcome was in doubt, including at the free throw line. Defensively, his length provided issues for the talented, but smaller Cypress Creek guards.
Shelton Henderson officially on the radar
Of all the prospects in the 6A Region III regional quarterfinal game Tuesday night, the Bellaire High freshman has the highest ceiling.
Henderson flashed a very good feel for the game, and playing strength well beyond his years. He was the most physical player with and without the ball Tuesday night. The 6-foot-5.5, 200-pound guard initiated, and played through contact on a number of strong finishes. Henderson’s physical nature, strong frame, long arms and powerful bounce makes him a difficult player to defend at the high school level. He displayed the ability to play with pace, read the defense and the feel to make the correct play consistently. He’s also a plus rebounder at his position. If Henderson develops his perimeter game out to 22-feet, he will ascend to a top flight national recruit.
Henderson finished with 14 points, seven rebounds and two steals.
Another 2025 prospect that will be heavily recruited at Bellaire High is Kohlman Dutton. The 6-foot-3 guard played strong with the ball against pressure defense, and flashed a high-end floater going left off the bounce. He’s a confident shooter that is not afraid of big moments at a young age.

Corey Hadnot will be a riser this spring
Cy Creek High has a pair of guards that are Division I prospects in the junior class headlined by combo guard Corey Hadnot.
The 6-foot-2 Hadnot plays quick and strong with the ball. He can score the ball going right or left off the dribble with the feel for creating space to get clean looks in the mid-range. The ability to play through contact and finish in the paint was apparent. Hadnot does a good job of getting defenders on his hip and creating downhill, straight line opportunities. He also flashed some snap passes and reactive court vision to sudden movement in his peripheral.
Hadnot finished the final game of his junior season with 19 points, five steals and four rebounds in the loss. Texas State and Abilene Christian are likely to offer soon, and will be followed by a number of others.
Junior shooting guard Noah Martin also had the look of a player that will be a low-to-mid major prospect. The 6-foot-3.5 junior competed on both ends, drawing the assignment of defending the 6-foot-7.5 Cole. Martin is a talented catch and shoot three-point prospect, that also flashed the ability to utilize ball fakes and hit a pair of baseline floaters. Martin is a competitive player on both ends that will benefit greatly from added strength in his upper and lower body.
