Jaden Allen, brother of Texas signee Bryan Allen Jr., commits to Longhorns

Aledo (Texas) athlete Jaden Allen announce his commitment Wednesday to Texas, becoming the first commit in the 2024 recruiting cycle for the Longhorns.
Allen is listed on his commitment graphic as a wide receiver, but is logged in On3’s database as a cornerback.
“I am truly honored and blessed to announce that I will be committing to the University of Texas at Austin!” Allen tweeted. “Hook ‘em Horns”
Jaden Allen is the brother of Bryan Allen Jr., a 2022 four-star prospect and Texas signee.
Bryan Allen Jr. is the No. 123 overall prospect in the 2022 cycle, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

He committed to Texas since February and signed his National Letter of Intent on National Signing Day. The four-star safety is one of the top defensive recruits in Texas’ top-10 recruiting class.
Allen is participating in this weekend’s Under Armour All-American Game, and it could be a big showcase for him.
“Allen’s senior tape is better than the On300 and On3 Consensus ranking,” On3 National Recruiting Analyst Gerry Hamilton said. “That makes the week in Orlando one in which the early enrollee can make a big jump in the final rankings. The game will likely be more impactful than the practice setting.”
