Charlotte (N.C.) Providence Day School four-star quarterback Jadyn Davis is currently one of the top uncommitted players in the country. That will no longer be the case by next weekend.

Davis is announcing his commitment live on SportsCenter at 1:30 p.m on March 31. He will be deciding between Clemson, Michigan, North Carolina, Ohio State and Tennessee.

“Just to weed through everything and be down to one school, it’s gonna be a true blessing,” Davis told On3. “It’s something I feel like I’ve worked for, but there’s a lot more work to be done. I couldn’t be here without the help and support of my family and coaches and teammates. It’s great to be able to call a place home and just be done with the process and recruit my class and help to build one of the top classes in the country.”

Davis knows what will matter most in his decision

Davis is still making up his mind on a college destination. He feels “extremely grateful” for his recruiting process, which taught him life lessons and helped him build multiple relationships.

After graduating high school, Davis is excited to get on campus and work his way to the starting job. The 6-foot-0.5, 190-pound signal-caller hopes to eventually quarterback his program to a national championship.

“It’s gonna come down to a place where I’ll be happy if football is taken away from me, a place where it’s gonna have great academics, a place where the offense can translate to the NFL easily,” said Davis, the No. 26 overall prospect and No. 4 quarterback in the 2024 On3 Industry Ranking. “I don’t want to be a guy that had a successful college career and then draft time comes around, you get knocked for playing in a certain college offense, not being able to translate it to the NFL game.

“What is also important is a place where you’re obviously gonna have playmakers around you, a place where I have a great bond with the guys that are already in the quarterback room and then in the locker room because those are the guys you’re going to be going to battle with, and a place where I feel that home vibe. I felt that way about a place. I’m just really excited to get this thing over with and call a place home for the next three-to-four years.”

Davis breaks down his top five schools

Clemson: “I’ve had a great relationship with coach (Brandon) Streeter and obviously, now coach (Garrett) Riley. They’ve had a great tradition of quarterbacks, going back to Tahj Boyd and Deshaun Watson, Trevor Lawrence and now Cade Klubnik. It’s a school that’s close to home and has had success in recent years of winning a national championship and competing at the highest level. I love how Clemson develop their guys on and off the field and cares for their guys off the field.”

Michigan: “My whole family loves Michigan. They’ve all been up there. It’s a place where I’ve seen a game, a summertime day and then, the coldest of the cold with my recent visit there. I feel like I pretty much know the ins and outs of Michigan. I have a great relationship with J.J. McCarthy. He’s someone that I consider a brother for life. Coach (Jim) Harbaugh is a guy that’s never lied to me. He’s always kept it 100% real with me and I’m big on loyalty and trust. He’s a guy I can trust. How they’ve treated me and my family has been second to none. They’ve always made me feel like a top priority.”

North Carolina: “They push the narrative of playing for the home state, with me being in Charlotte now. I love the idea. I’m really close with Sam Howell and Drake Maye and I can easily call those guys and ask about their experiences. I would love to help that program and put them back on the map like Sam and Drake did almost and change the narrative from a basketball school to a football school. I love how coach (Chip) Lindsey‘s been leading the program on the offensive side of the ball. With coach (Mack) Brown at the helm, he’s been around for a really long time. I consider him the OG in the college recruiting and the college football game.”

Ohio State: “You can’t forget to mention the amount of talent you’re gonna have around you if you choose a place like Ohio State, having three first round receiver draft picks. It’s crazy, it’s unheard of. With coach (Ryan) Day‘s development of quarterbacks, you can’t deny it. The great fraternity of quarterbacks is at that university. Me and C.J. Stroud are extremely close. Justin Fields, that’s my guy. Cardale Jones and Braxton Miller and Dwayne Haskins, the list goes on. I love how they develop. You’re gonna play in an offense that’s been a top-five offense in the country year in and year out and put up big numbers. That’s a place where you throw the ball in anybody’s catch radius, they’re coming down with it.”

Tennessee: “I love how explosive Tennessee’s offense is. Every time I’ve been to Neyland Stadium for a game, it’s been an unbelievable atmosphere, like when they beat Alabama and then when they lost to Ole Miss and were throwing stuff at Lane Kiffin. It’s been extremely fun being recruited by the Volunteers. I love coach (Josh) Heupel and everything he’s doing to turn that program around. They were the No. 1 team in the country at one point last year. I love how they get the ball into playmakers’ hands and the tempo they play with and coach (Joey) Halzle‘s development of quarterback fundamentals, the mechanics.”
