DL Jahkeem Stewart remains 5-star prospect following reclassification to 2025 cycle
A new five-star in the 2025 cycle entered the fold on Saturday, as Reserve (La.) Edna Karr defensive lineman Jahkeem Stewart told On3’s Steve Wiltfong that he was reclassifying and is no longer a member of the 2026 class.
With his reclassification, Stewart, formerly the top-ranked recruit in 2026, now checks in at No. 19 overall in the 2025 On300. He is also the No. 3 defensive lineman and the No. 2 player in Louisiana.
“I am officially reclassified to the 2025 class and attending Edna Karr High School,” Stewart said in a post confirming the news on X. “I greatly appreciate everyone at Edna Karr and Inspire Nola Charter Schools for giving me the opportunity to continue to pursue my goals and welcoming me with open arms. I am forever grateful. You all truly are “second to none.” I will be graduating December of 2024, signing my national LOI on December 3rd during Early Signing Period and early enrolling into college later in December. As of now I have official visits to Oregon, LSU, USC and Ohio State; with a couple more to be added.”
With Stewart’s process now sped up by a year, he has locked in four official visits, beginning with a trip to Eugene to see Oregon host Ohio State next Saturday. He will return to Ohio State at the end of November and is also planning to see both LSU and USC before then next month.

LSU has long been trending for the elite prospect out of The Boot. Tigers insiders Shea Dixon and Billy Embody each logged picks in the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine (RPM) in favor of the local program back in March.
Jahkeem Stewart Scouting Summary
On3 writes this of Stewart as a prospect:
“Physically-gifted defensive lineman with a high-end combination of twitch and technical ability at an early stage. Has a naturally big frame, measuring in at 6-foot-6, 280 pounds prior to his sophomore season. Has plus length for the position with arms that measure over 34 inches along with 10.75-inch hands. Put his name on the national radar with a number of impressive camp performances as a high school underclassman. Missed his freshman season due to a transfer. Has looked dominant in the camp setting.
…Flashes advanced technique despite his lack of varsity experience. Uses quick hands to easily disengage. Has a nasty straight arm that he uses to walk offensive linemen back to the quarterback. More of a straight line athlete who is at his best moving forward. Will need to improve his lateral agility as he has some stiffness when moving side to side. Will also need to transfer his skills on to Friday nights as he gets varsity experience.”
