Ja'Kobe Walter announcing commitment June 22
On3 Consensus 5-star Ja’Kobe Walter is set to announce his commitment on June 22.
The near 6-foot-6, 193-pound shooting guard made four official visits throughout the process.
Walter, No. 16 in the On3 Consensus ranking, visited Alabama November 5 to begin the official visit process. He followed with a trip to Auburn January 22. His next trip was to Texas the last weekend in April, and Baylor closed out the official visit festivities June 13-15.
Baylor holds a very comfortable lead in the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine headed into Walter’s announcement.
Walter named a Top 8 schools May 4. Oklahoma, Kansas, Seton Hall and UCLA joined Baylor, Texas, Auburn and Alabama on the final list.

All the intel On3 attained headed into June was a decision would ultimately come down to Baylor, Texas and Auburn.
Walter averaged 24.7 points and 7.4 rebounds, 2.4 steals and 2.0 assists per game as a junior. That included connecting on 40 percent of shots from three, and 85 percent of his attempts from the free throw line. He led McKinney to the 6A State Championship game and a record of 35-6. He was named a MaxPreps Second-Team All-American following the season.
