Jalen Shelley is fast becoming one of the most sought after 2024 prospects in the country.

The near 6-foot-8 wing/guard picked up his first offer in May of 2021. That was from Nevada in football.

Fast forward to April of 2022, and the basketball offers began flowing in after an impressive showing during the April live period. The Texas Longhorns became the first hoops offer April 23.

The younger brother of Missouri State quarterback Jason Shelley has picked up seven more offers since Texas. That includes a trio on Wednesday, the first day colleges could contact 2024 prospects. LSU, TCU and Houston have already extended offers today.

The schools that have contacted the versatile guard are Texas, Baylor, Texas Tech, LSU, TCU, Houston, Missouri, UCLA, SMU, Tennessee, Arkansas, Lamar, San Diego and Longwood.

Shelley’s game is full of guard skill set with a coaches dream height and frame. He has flashed NBA three-point range, the ability to see the floor with the ball or on the wing and work through traffic with smoothness this spring.

Shelley averaged 12 points and 4.6 rebounds per game for Lone Star High as a sophomore. Numbers that are expected to make a huge jump in 2022-23.
