Jalen Tolbert ready to seize opportunity in Cowboys offense as a rookie

Former South Alabama wide receiver Jalen Tolbert was drafted in the third round of the 2022 NFL Draft by the Dallas Cowboys. Now, he’s ready to seize an opportunity available to him in the Cowboys’ offense.
Jalen Tolbert’s opportunity with Dallas comes as the Cowboys’ wide receivers room is going through a transitional period. Amari Cooper and Cedrick Wilson have moved on to new teams. Meanwhile, Michael Gallup is recovering from a torn ACL. There is room for a young wide receiver to step into the spotlight here, and Tolbert knows it.
“I’m definitely excited for the opportunity that’s in front of me and just being able to go and compete and continue to do the thing that I love,” Jalen Tolbert said on SiriusXM NFL Radio, via the Dallas Morning News. “A lot of people aren’t blessed to be able to play after college, and so I definitely have a special opportunity, and I’m looking forward to it.”
To get ready for this opportunity, Jalen Tolbert has been working out with quarterback Dak Prescott. Together, they’ve been working on their timing and chemistry. CeeDee Lamb, the best returning receiver that the Dallas Cowboys have, has also been working with Tolbert. Players like Lamb have been able to give him advice, so he knows what to expect moving forward.

“More so just taking it one day at a time, because overall my rookie year will be my longest year,” said Jalen Tolbert. “And so, take it one day at a time. It is definitely a blessing and a perfect opportunity for you and the team. So just continuing to grow and not really thinking about the timeline, but just thinking about the work that you’re putting in and opportunities that you have to you go chase, you know, a Super Bowl.”
