Breakout EYBL performance showcases growth by 2025 power forward Jamarion Davis-Fleming
MEMPHIS, Tennessee — Entering the EYBL season, Canton (MS) power forward Jamarion Davis-Fleming had plenty to prove as a blossoming big man ready to hit the national stage.
After averaging 15 points and 7 rebounds on 76.9% shooting from the field across three games in Memphis, he has showcased something the Team Thad staff has been preaching for months.
“I’ve been saying this: ‘(Jamarion Davis Fleming), he is a Top 50 player,'” head coach Norton Hurd told On3. “And the world has seen it. He has been the best big man on the court in every game we’ve played this weekend. Post moves, strong, athletic shot-blocker. There ain’t nothing he can’t do. He’s a Top Five big in the country and the world is going to see that.”
Entering the weekend, Davis-Fleming boasted 12 offers, including Alabama, Mississippi State, Ole Miss. A source told On3 the teams in contact most about his recruitment recently also include Memphis and Wake Forest.
“It’s gonna get crazy,” said Hurd.
Continued development, on-going recruitment
While Jamarion Davis-Fleming entered the EYBL season with offers, he is not shy about his desire to be featured among the top prospects in the 2025 class. He is driven both by the offers he has, and the ones he hopes to earn.
“It drives me a lot,” said Davis-Fleming. “Especially seeing a lot of these kids getting the Dukes, the North Carolinas — where I think I deserve too. No discredit to them, but I think I work hard and I’m one of the high-caliber players.
“So it definitely motivates me to know that I can get way more.”
Leading into his EYBL breakout, the 6-foot-8 forward focused on improving several areas of his game.

“Definitely just trying to work on my shot and my footwork,” said Davis-Fleming. “And get a lot stronger. I just want to show everybody that I compete in the high-caliber battle of the EYBL.”
People are starting to take notice of the improvement, leading to more attention on his performances.
“It feels good,” said Davis-Fleming. “This is my first year that everybody is starting to recognize me. It’s definitely great that I’m getting the attention that I deserve. And I just keep putting the hard work in and hopefully it’ll pay off.
Jamarion Davis-Fleming on teams involved
Jamarion Davis-Fleming also spoke about two of the programs he has been in contact, Alabama and Memphis.
Davis-Fleming on Alabama:
“Alabama is good, we talked (Sunday). They hit me up before the game and told me good luck, wished me well and told me they’d be watching. So me and Alabama, it’s a great connection.”
Davis-Fleming on Memphis:
“We talk mostly every week leading up to the EYBL circuit. They ask me how I’m doing and they keep in touch asking about my family. They just make sure I’m good on and off the court. … I’m open to all schools, I definitely like their program. Penny played in the league many years and he’ll get you ready for the league. He knows what it takes to put the work in.
