“I like how the school and the community vibe together as one,” Davis-Fleming told Jones. “Their competitiveness in practice really stood out to me, just the way they compete in everything. I like the way Coach Jans gets the most out of them in practice and he’s going to push them to their limits every time. That was good to see.
“Josh Hubbard probably stood out to me the most in practice with their players. I watched their frontcourt guys a good bit, too. They have a lot of new guys in the frontcourt and those guys are coming along well.
“Coach Jans talked with us a lot (on the visit). He told me I’m a priority for them. He said I can come in there, work hard, and have a good future ahead of me. It was fun and amazing being around Coach Jans this weekend. I got to see more of his personality and see how he is in person.”
Jamarion Davis-Fleming Scouting Report
“What sticks out the most when watching Jamarion Davis-Fleming is the natural athletic tools. For starters, he has legit size, in the range of his listed 6-foot-9, and he has great length. To go along with that, he moves very fluidly for a player his size. Davis-Fleming is able to change direction, move his feet, and slide down to affect plays at the rim. At his ceiling, he has the look of someone who is able to guard perimeter-based forwards, defend off-ball and in the passing lanes, and act as a weak-side rim protector. Offensively, Davis-Fleming is still figuring himself out. He has some athletic pop and he has some touch. He will need to continue adding strength, that will be a big piece of his continued progression. With that, it would be nice to see him continue working on the balance points of his jump shot and get comfortable with a go-to move ten feet and in from the basket. Davis-Fleming is comfortable in the dunker spot and he gets a lot of points running to the front of the rim in transition. He switches ends from defense to offense quickly, and he is a long-strider in transition. There is a lot of upside with Davis-Fleming, at this point, it is about learning his body and learning how he can be most effective. The defensive upside is very intriguing at this point.” – On3’s Jamie Shaw
