Jameel Brown, a 6-foot-4 combo guard, has committed to Penn State basketball for the class of 2022, he tells On3.

Brown is the Nittany Lion’s third commitment in the class, following Evan Mahaffey and Kanye Clary.

Brown, formerly committed to Purdue, backed off his pledge from the Boilermakers in March of this year. He quickly picked up offers from Notre Dame, Minnesota, St. Joe’s, and Auburn but Penn State has long been since viewed as the favorite.

Jameel Brown plays for the Haverford School (Penn.) and ran with Team Final this summer for AAU-the reigning Peach Jam champs.

Jameel Brown on why he chose Penn State

“I chose Penn State because I trust the coaching staff,” Brown said. “They also trust and believe in me. I’ll come in and make an impact right away. Also, the Big 10 is probably the best conference in the country so it’ll be great to play against that competition all the time.”
