Jared Ivey injury update: Broadcast updates status on Ole Miss DE
Ole Miss defensive end Jared Ivey was carted to the locker room after suffering an injury in the second half against Wake Forest on Saturday. Ivey suffered the injury in the third quarter and had to be helped off the field by the Rebels training staff.
He was taken to the injury tent, where he remained for quite some time trying to get ready to go back into the game. Unfortunately, that would not be the case as CW sideline reporter Treavor Scales offered an update with eight minutes remaining in the fourth quarter.
“We were watching the progress, or lack thereof, from Jared Ivey,” he said. “Unfortunately, we did see a cart come and pick him up from the injury tent. We will continue to await more on his return.”
Ivey never returned to the game as Ole Miss would go on to win by a score of 40-6. A report from Ole Miss Spirit after the game revealed that he suffered an ankle sprain and was seen wearing a walking boot.

Ivey has been a starter for the Rebels the past two seasons and was named MVP of the Peach Bowl in 2023. He recorded team highs in both tackles for loss (11.5) and sacks (5.5) while also adding 46 tackles and two fumble recoveries, including one returning for a touchdown, this past year.
Ole Miss will hope that the injury to Ivey isn’t one that will hold him out too long. The report from OM Spirit mentioned that nothing was broken, which is certainly a good sign. However, depending on the severity of the sprain, it could still be enough to force him to miss time.
We’ll await further updates this week as the Rebels prepare to face Georgia Southern at 7:45 p.m. ET on Saturday.
