Jaxon Johnson is a lengthy and skilled combo forward from Sandy (UT) Alta High. He is averaging 14.4 points, 7.0 rebounds, 3.7 assists, 1.8 steals, and 1.1 blocks for his 12-and-1 high school team this season.

“I’m a two-way player,” Johnson told On3. “I’m a big who can stretch the floor, attack, defend one through five. I watch a lot of Malik Beasley with his shooting and scoring instincts.”

With the consistent success he is having, college programs are starting to come around for him. On3 caught up with Jaxon Johnson after a recent live viewing to talk about the current state of his recruitment.

Johnson talks recruitment

“I haven’t set any official visits yet,” Johnson said. “I’m trying to visit Stanford sometime soon.”

Stanford: “I got on a Zoom call with all their coaches. They showed me what Stanford was like, and some slides of their campus and facilities and everything. They offered me on the Zoom call. I love the way they play and how they stretch the floor. They play hard, too; they battle.”

“I spoke with Utah and BYU, Harvard a little too,” Johnson said. “None of them have offered yet.”

In Johnson’s words

“I am going to be looking at how the coaches interact with everyone,” Johnson said. “When I go on my visits, I’ll want to see what type of brotherhood the plays have with one another.

“I want to be able to stretch the floor, use my versatility on both ends like I do now. I just want to get a good education and play at the highest level I can.”
