Former USC Trojan signal-caller Jaxson Dart is one of the hottest prospects in the transfer portal. Today (Wednesday), he is making a visit to Provo, Utah to visit the BYU Cougars, according to the Sidelines-Ole Miss Twitter account. The Cougars are not expected to play a role as one of his finalists. The final decision is still going to come down to Ole Miss and Oklahoma, according to the tweet.

It should be noted that Dart is a Utah native and a Mormon.

Dart has been making the rounds at his recent school visits with his former USC teammate, tight end Michael Trigg.

The pair released a video of their visit to Oklahoma just days ago. Both Trigg and Dart are highly touted recruits, and their commitment will undoubtedly be a major boost for whichever program they choose.

Dart, Trigg were both highly touted recruits

Joining USC this season as true freshman, Dart and Trigg both came in with great expectations. Dart was a four-star quarterback according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. Trigg was a four-star tight end.

Dart started three games this season for USC. He played in six games as a whole, throwing for 1,353 yards, nine touchdowns and five interceptions. Against Washington State in September, Dart threw for 391 yards and four touchdowns. Trigg, on the other hand, didn’t have a huge role in his first collegiate season. He caught seven passes for 109 yards and a touchdown as a freshman.

The fit for Ole Miss would be clear, especially for Dart. Ole Miss is looking to replace Matt Corral at quarterback. Corral is entering the 2022 NFL Draft, and is likely to be a first round draft pick as one of the top quarterbacks available. If Lane Kiffin and the Rebels can land Dart and Trigg, it would add to an already impressive offense that also landed former On3 Consensus five-star running back Zach Evans.

Dart also posted pictures of him posing at Oklahoma, after he and Trigg visited Norman earlier. The fit would be interesting at Oklahoma at quarterback. Caleb Williams and Spencer Rattler have both departed, while the Sooners reunited offensive coordinator Jeff Lebby with his former UCF quarterback Dillon Gabriel.

One thing is for sure: the former roommates at USC are publicly enjoying their time in the transfer portal. With options narrowing and time running out, a destination will likely be selected soon.

On3’s Jonathan Wagner also contributed to the report.
