Florida and Ole Miss are set to clash in a meeting that will mean quite a bit to both programs, and the status of the injury report for both looms large.

The Rebels are hoping to get back Tre Harris, who just might be the best receiver in the country. So how he is designated on tonight’s first injury report of the week is well worth watching.

The Gators have also had some injuries in recent weeks, with running back Montrell Johnson appearing on last week’s injury report as a game-time decision before he played. He’s a big weapon, so having him healthy would be a significant boost, though Florida is very deep at running back.

In any case, the injury report will give us a better idea what to expect from each squad.

Las Vegas has this game as a somewhat lopsided contest, as Ole Miss enters as a 10.5-point favorite heading into the game. Still, the game is in the Swamp and a healthier Florida team could put up a fight.

Let’s get to the injury report.

Florida:

Ja’Keem Jackson, DB, OUT

Jason Marshall Jr., DB, OUT

Eugene Wilson III, WR, OUT

Treyaun Webb, RB, OUT

Grayson Howard, ILB, OUT

Probably the most significant injury for either team — barring Florida quarterback DJ Lagway further tweaking the hamstring injury he’s playing on — is that to Ole Miss receiver Tre Haris.

Harris has been on ice for more than a month. Coach Lane Kiffin made it sound like he’ll be ready to roll on Saturday in the Swamp.

“Tre’s been great,” Kiffin said on the SEC coaches teleconference on Wednesday. “Been awesome having him back out there. To be fully loaded, whole team and offense has been great. Great feeling to have that back. The nation’s toughest receiver in the country. So, it’s been great to have him back out there.”

As for Florida, the ongoing health of Johnson bears monitoring. In his return after a month-long absence, the senior back ran twice for 14 yards against LSU.

Meanwhile, linebacker Pup Howard was also out last week. His availability on the injury report will also bear monitoring. He has recorded 37 tackles, 2.0 tackles for a loss, a sack, a forced fumble, two fumble recoveries, a pass breakup and two quarterback hurries this season.
