Missouri freshman defensive end Jaylen Brown enters NCAA Transfer Portal
Missouri true freshman defensive end Jaylen Brown has entered the NCAA Transfer Portal, according to On3’s Pete Nakos.
Brown notched two tackles in his lone season with the Tigers after signing with them during the 2024 recruiting cycle.
The 6-foot-6, 255-pounder was the No. 282 overall prospect in the class, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He also ranked as the nation’s No. 32 EDGE and No. 18 recruit in Alabama.
Brown, who played his prep ball at Madison (Ala.) James Clemens, was one of the headliners of the Tigers’ class, which ranked No. 21 nationally in the On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings. He becomes the eight player — and fourth scholarship athlete — to enter the portal for the Tigers since it opened on Monday.
He joins sophomore safety Phillip Roche, redshirt freshman linebacker Brayshawn Littlejohn, and junior wide receiver Mekhi Miller in the portal.

Tigers will need to add more depth along the defensive line
And he might not be the last Missouri defensive end to officially go in, as former Five-Star Plus+ EDGE Williams Nwaneri announced his intentions to do with On3’s Hayes Fawcett on Tuesday morning.
Nwaneri recorded two tackles, a sack and a quarterback hurry across the four games he played in as a freshman. Prior to coming to Missouri, Nwaneri attended Lee’s Summit North High School where he was a three-year starter. He finished his high school career with 149 tackles, 25 tackles for loss and 23 sacks.
He was ranked as a top-10 prospect nationally and the nation’s No. 1 edge rusher out of high school.
The aforementioned Miller has been Missouri’s most productive departure, hauling in 22 passes for 311 yards and one touchdown over three seasons.
