Jeremiah Fears has trimmed his list of schools down once again and will now consider five programs — Illinois, Kansas, Michigan, Ole Miss and Providence.

The 6-foot-3 junior is a native of Joliet, Illinois but currently plays his high school ball at Compass Prep in Arizona. He previously considered programs like Iowa, Oregon, Michigan State, Arizona, and Alabama.

Fears has taken two official visits to schools in his final five — Illinois and Providence. Michigan will host him for his third official visit on February 3rd. He’s also considering a visit to Ole Miss. The four-star prospect plans to make a decision within the next couple of months.

Fears talks finalists

Jeremiah Fears broke down each of his finalists in an interview with On3.

Illinois: “Illinois coaching staff did a pretty good job as well on the visit. The play style fits me and the guards have a crazy leash.”

Kansas: “Kansas has a really good program. They do a really good job getting guards to the league.”

Scouting Report

“Jeremiah Fears is a compact and confident guard. He plays with a lot of burst, on both ends of the floor. Fears has a confident handle and uses his burst to get to his spots. He plays balanced with an ability to rise up and knock down shots at each level. He is more of a score first guard than a point guard. Fears is a good on ball defender at the point of attack. Some could question the size. There is an undeniable competitive fire in there.” – On3’s Jamie Shaw

According to the On3 Industry Rankings, Fears is ranked as the No. 35 overall prospect in the 2024 cycle. He’s also the No. 5 point guard and the No. 2 player in Arizona. The On3 Industry Ranking is a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
