Cincinnati running back Jerome Ford announces plans for 2022 season

Cincinnati running back Jerome Ford has announced on Twitter he will enter the NFL Draft, days after playing his former team in the College Football Playoff semifinals.

The former Alabama tailback, Ford transferred to Cincinnati for the 2020 season following two years in Tuscaloosa. He was a large part of the Bearcats’ success the last two seasons, including their unprecedented run to the playoff.

Ford finished this year with 215 carries for 1,319 yards and 19 touchdowns. A multi-faceted back, he was also a player in the passing game with 21 catches for 220 yards and a touchdown. In Cincinnati’s loss to Alabama, he has 77 yards on 15 carries.

The 5-foot-11 back was the No. 29 running back out of high school and No. 67 player out of Florida, per On3. He attended Armwood High School in Tampa, Fla.
