Jerry Jones explains his love for New Orleans, Bourbon Street
Football fans in New Orleans may want to look out for Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones on Bourbon Street on Thursday night. In a radio appearance Thursday, Jones declared his love for one of the most iconic party destinations in America.
“When you see me, you’re only seeing 80 percent,” Jones said. “… Because I’ve left the other 20 percent on Bourbon Street. It’s some kind of place. And there are Cowboys fans here.”
Dallas faces the New Orleans Saints in this week’s edition of Thursday Night Football. The Cowboys are looking for a victory after losing three of their past four games, including two straight.
New Orleans began the season at 5-2 before starting quarterback Jameis Winston suffered a season-ending knee injury in Week 8. Since then, the Saints have gone 0-4 with Trevor Siemian starting in Winston’s place.
This has led coach Sean Payton to make a change at quarterback, starting Taysom Hill over Siemian on Thursday. Hill threw his first touchdown pass of this season early in the second quarter on a 24-yard connection with Lil’Jordan Humphrey. As of that touchdown pass, the quarterback was 8-of-13 passing for 95 yards passing to go with 12 yards rushing.

It is the Cowboys, however, that struck first at the Superdome.
Quarterback Dak Prescott got the offense going early with a 41-yard pass to receiver Amari Cooper. Later that same drive, Prescott found Michael Gallup for the 1-yard touchdown pass to go up 7-0. The Humphrey touchdown that would came later tied the game at 7.
Despite losing two straight, Dallas still has a strong hold on the NFC East division. The next closest team in Washington (5-6) doesn’t even have a winning record. The Cowboys are eyeing a playoff appearance after failing to make the postseason last year.
But if they are to get there, the teams needs to get back on track, beginning with a victory tonight. If that happens, expect Jerry Jones to celebrate with a night out in New Orleans on Bourbon Street.
