Jim Harbaugh makes ‘no comment’ on alleged Ryan Day jab

After defeating Ohio State for the first time in his coaching career with Michigan, taking the Wolverines one step closer to their first College Football Playoff appearance, Jim Harbaugh slipped in a comment which many believed to be directed at Ryan Day.
While speaking in the aftermath of the 42-27 win in Ann Arbor, Jim Harbaugh made what some assumed to be a comment about Ryan Day. However, there is no direct evidence of malice toward the losing coach.
“”Sometimes, there are people standing on third base that think they hit a triple… but they didn’t,” said Harbaugh as his team shifted their focus on the Big Ten Championship game.
With rumors floating around ever since that day about the aim of his comment, Harbaugh declined to comment further during Big Ten Media Days in Indianapolis.

“I have no comment on that at this time,” Harbaugh said as he prepared to make his way off the stage, according to The Wolverine’s Clayton Sayfie.
Whether Harbaugh truly meant to take a jab at Day or offered the no comment in order to avoid a different beef, Michigan and Ohio State fans will surely continue to see things through the same lens as before. The rivalry series always features plenty intense dialogue, but the 2022 edition could turn into must-watch television once more.
