One of the biggest criticism of Michigan this year is the Wolverines’ strength of schedule in non-conference play. The Wolverines — the No. 3 team in the nation in the latest College Football Playoff rankings — have played the 82nd-toughest schedule in the country so far, according to ESPN’s FPI, which is why fans have generated discussion about their undefeated record.

An Ohio State fan took to Twitter to talk about that subject, and FOX Sports analyst Joel Klatt made his stance on the argument abundantly clear.

Klatt trolled the fan during his “Klatt Back” segment during the latest edition of “Breaking The Huddle with Joel Klatt” on Wednesday. He noted the Buckeyes, obviously, play in the same division as the Wolverines, meaning their schedules aren’t much different. It’s worth noting Ohio State’s schedule so far ranks as the 60th-toughest, per ESPN.

“You are in the same division,” Klatt said. “You can’t rip on their schedule and say they haven’t played anybody because you basically play the same schedule. What, are you going to argue that, like, Notre Dame is a juggernaut offensively? At this point, you’re just insecure, Alex.

“Alex, the insecure Ohio State fan. Michigan’s pretty good, and guess what? You’re going to have an opportunity to beat them next week in The Shoe.”

Michigan and Ohio State appear to be on a collision course for next week’s game in Columbus. The Game will not only have national implications in the CFP rankings, but the winner will clinch the Big Ten East title and, as a result, head to Indianapolis for the Big Ten Championship Dec. 3.

Before that, though, Michigan will take on Illinois at home in Ann Arbor this week while Ohio State faces off against Maryland on the road in College Park.
