Joey Chestnut wins 2022 Nathan's Famous Hot Dog Eating Contest, eats 63 hot dogs
It’s time to have the conversation — Joey Chestnut may be the most dominant athlete of our time.
As per tradition, Chestnut captured the Mustard Belt on Coney Island once again, eating 63 hot dogs on his way to becoming a 15-time Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating Contest Champion.
Watch as not even a protestor could get in-between the G.O.A.T. and disrupt his journey to another title.
Chestnut has now won 15 of the last 16 contests, with a Matt Stonie victory sandwiched in-between his streaks. Last year, Chestnut consumed 76 hot dogs and buns, which broke his own world record.
Moreover, the most impressive feat of the day may have been the fact that Chestnut didn’t just win the contest, the legendary competitive eater did so while dealing with a serious injury.
During the weigh-in for the contest, Chestnut shockingly hobbled to the stage using crutches. However, he wasn’t going to let his injured leg affect his ability to capture the title.
“I’m gonna eat like a madman,” Chestnut told Fox News Digital before weighing in at 235 pounds, via the New York Post. “It’s a ruptured tendon. It’s all right. I’ll be able to stand up and eat. I’m excited.

WATCH: Miki Sudo wins Women’s Nathan’s Famous Hot Dog Eating Contest
Before Joey Chestnut set the world on fire, the Women’s Hot Dog Eating Contest featured one of the most riveting battles in recent memory.
Last year, Michelle Lesco finally broke through the glass ceiling, capturing her first title as seven-time champion Miki Sudo was unable to compete in 2021. However, the champ wasn’t going to let someone else have all the shine, as Sudo looked to regain her crown in 2022.
“I’m so excited to be back,” Sudo said, prior to the event. “It’s been a while since I’ve eaten hot dogs before a Coney Island crowd.”
Regain her crown she did, as Sudo ate 40 hot dogs in ten minutes to recapture her title on Monday.
As you can see, Miki Sudo returned with a vengeance to find victory in Coney Island, and she’s now an eight-time champion on the Women’s Nathan’s Famous Hot Dog Eating Contest.
