Basketball season is in full effect. Typically, the recruiting process for high school recruits begins to slow a bit during this time. This is because of the hectic schedule from both parties (players and coaches) — multiple games a week, leading to it being more difficult to find time during the midst of the season.

However, several head coaches in college basketball make it their mission to visit their top recruits. This helps further build a relationship, continues the scouting process, and shows the player that they are a priority for that school.

I’ve decided to do a mini series in which I ask several of the nation’s top 2025 prospects which head coaches have been in to see them this season. This includes coming to their respective high school to visit in between classes, for games, and practices.

Next up is Five-Star Plus+ Caleb Wilson, a 6-foot-9 power forward out of Holy Innocents Episcopal School in Atlanta. Wilson is ranked as the No. 5 overall recruit in the 2025 class, according to the On3 Industry Rankings.

7 head coaches have been in to see Wilson this season

Wilson told On3 the following head coaches have visited him this season:

  • Kentucky’s John Calipari
  • North Carolina’s Hubert Davis
  • Auburn’s Bruce Pearl
  • Tennessee’s Rick Barnes
  • Georgia Tech’s Damon Stoudamire
  • Stanford’s Jerod Haase
  • Missouri’s Dennis Gates

Scouting Report

“Caleb Wilson has a great frame, good length and natural pop. Plays really well in a phone booth, efficient movements in tight spaces, shows the footwork to shake free with the ball in the half court. Needs to continue getting stronger, which will help his base and balance. He is explosive around the basket, has go-to comfort over his left shoulder with patience. Can push the break and plays with pace. He has a vast array of offensive moves, at multiple levels. He is still learning his body and still gaining strength, this will only help his consistency. Tracking as one of the top players in his class.” – On3’s Jamie Shaw

Wilson’s NIL Valuation worth over $250K

Caleb Wilson currently holds a $259,000 On3 NIL Valuation, which ranks 24th in high school basketball.

The On3 NIL Valuation is the industry’s leading index that sets the standard market NIL value for high school and college athletes. A proprietary algorithm, the On3 NIL Valuation calculates an athlete’s NIL value using dynamic data points targeting three primary categories: performance, influence and exposure.

About On3 NIL Valuation, Brand Value, Roster Value

While the algorithm includes deal data, it does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals athletes have completed to date, nor does it set an athlete’s NIL valuation for their entire career.

The On3 NIL Valuation accounts for an athlete’s roster value and brand value. Roster value is the value an athlete has by being a member of his or her team at his or her school, which factors into the role of NIL collectives. Brand value factors in an athlete’s personal brand and the value it could bring to regional and national brands outside of the scope of NIL collectives.
