Fishers (Ind.) High On300 receiver JonAnthony Hall announced his commitment to Stanford on Friday afternoon.

The four-star playmaker chose the Cardinal over his other finalists in Indiana, Northwestern, Notre Dame and Purdue. He also had offers from Iowa and Michigan among others.

“Academically it’s just in a league of its own,” Hall said. “As well as their plan for me moving forward just fits me well on the football standpoint.”

The 6-foot-1, 170-pound Hall becomes commit No. 18 for head coach Troy Taylor and the Cardinal staff. He is one of the jewels alongside four-star quarterback Bear Bachmeier and four-star defensive lineman Adam Shovlin.

“The staff has been so welcoming to me and my family,” Hall said. “I felt like there was a genuine connection between us along with Coach Taylor being the offensive coordinator and his pass-first mind I know I’ll be in good hands.”

Hall is a three-sport athlete

As a junior Hall turned 69 receptions into 1,055 yards and six touchdowns against the state’s top competition.

In basketball he helped lead his team to a state championship in the largest classification, averaging 11.2 points (second on the team), four rebounds (second on the team) and three assists per game.

Hall is also one of the top long jumpers in the state finishing second at the finals with a leap of 23-feet, 1-inch and he was on the 400m relay that took third.

The On3 Industry ranks him as the nation’s No. 41 receiver and No. 283 prospect overall.

Visit to Palo Alto was the game-changer

Hall took his official visit to Stanford the weekend of June 7. He was recruited by receivers coach Tyler Osborne.

“The campus was such a sight to see and I can see myself getting along with the receiver room really well after only being around with them for a couple days,” Hall said.

Hall raved about his experience following his official.

“Big takeaways was definitely the plan after football and the ability that a degree from there can do. I really bonded with the receivers well and they’re all great people. And the campus is very beautiful.

“When it comes to my tape there’s a lot of similarities to what I do in high school and how they move around different guys in different spots instead of being a solidified position.”
