Jonathan Sanderson is currently the No. 45 overall player in the 2026 On3 150. The 6-foot-2 guard who recently transferred to Nashille (TN) Enswoth averaged 16.2 points and 3.0 assists in Adidas 3SS Circuit play with the Wildcats Select program this summer.

“I’m a point guard who can really shoot and is dynamic,” Sanderson told On3. “I’m trying to push right now to be the best leader I can as a point guard. I’ve been focusing a lot on the weight room here lately, trying to get my body to a point where I can compete at any level.”

On3 was able to catch up with four-star Jonathan Sanderson recently to discuss the latest in his recruitment.

“I have offers from every Big Ten besides Minnesota, Penn State, and Northwestern,” Sanderson said. “I also have offers from Xavier, Virginia, Vanderbilt, Virginia Tech, and a few others. I’ve been to Indiana, Iowa, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Virginia, and a few others for unofficials.”

Sanderson talks schools

VIRGINIA: “The head coach stood out to me. Tony Bennett is a really good dude. He is Christian based and he does what he does for Jesus, and I really love that. I had a fun time when I went down there.”

IOWA: “I loved Iowa because when Coach (Fran) McCaffery was talking to me, he is a great guy, really funny dude. But he told me that I could play really well in their system, with how fast they play and how much they shoot. It would be a good fit.”

NOTRE DAME: “The facilities up there are awesome, when I went up to watch a football game, that was a crazy experience. Coach Shrews (Micah Shrewsberry) is a great guy. We have known him for a while, so he is almost like family to us, and he is just an awesome dude.”

INDIANA: “I went to see them last year. It wasn’t during a football game either, so it was just me. They treated me really well. I got to see the facilities and meet all the coaches and everyone around the program. That was an awesome experience for me, I loved the coaches there.”

OHIO STATE: “That goes back to my parents, they’re both from the Columbus area. My dad played there, so it goes back a long way for me, you know the family genes. That was one place where it was a surreal experience. You know, they got a really good football team and it was a great experience. Coach (Jake) Diebler is a great dude.”

VANDERBILT: “They have great facilities there, I’ve been able to get over there and work out and do all that. I really like the coach there, his son is on my basketball team. So they have just been a blessing, to be honest.”

In Jonathan Sanderson’s words

“Right now, my recruitment is wide open,” Sanderson said. “It will be a decision that I pray about and talk about with my family. I’m really going to be looking for a coach and a coaching staff that believes in me and what I can do. Also, a coach I trust that can help me get to that next level.”
