Joseph Tipton and Maria Taustine win Don Meyer Leadership Award for October
On3 celebrates a team member each month with the Don Meyer Leadership Award, recognizing the staffer who best demonstrates leadership and achievement within the organization. The recipient is honored within the company and also receives a cash prize.
In October, two staff members stood out so much that both needed to be recognized this month. On3 social media national recruiting expert, Joe Tipton, and Maria Taustine, KSR director of operations, proved their teamwork, leadership skills, and creative thinking this month.
Joe Tipton
Joe Tipton has played a key role in launching On3’s basketball recruiting coverage by frequently breaking high-profile commitments and other noteworthy news items. He is also one of the more prolific writers in the college basketball recruiting space.
Joe’s hard work has set the foundation for robust basketball recruiting coverage at On3. He also has a strong desire to continue to improve and become a force within the industry.
Additionally, Joe has been instrumental in bringing recognition to the On3 brand through social media channels. His incorporation of the On3 logo on his social media graphics and the use of On3 social handles for commitment announcements have been pivotal in the growth of On3Recruits.

Maria Taustine
Maria Taustine has worked tirelessly behind the scenes to help successfully launch On3. She deserves to be publicly recognized for her leadership with On3 customer service, accounting, advertising, human resources as well as KSR operations. Maria is a true team player, willing to take on any task to help On3 win. While she has made an impact on many areas of our business, her work leading the customer service team over the last three months has been outstanding. Maria selflessly volunteered to take on the role in addition to her regular duties. She built the customer service platform from scratch, trained our representatives and has championed our company’s commitment to customer service. We are fortunate to have her on our team.
KSR Managing Editor, Tyler Thompson, added “Maria is the consummate professional and an even better person. There aren’t enough words to express my gratitude to her for helping keep the KSR machine rolling. There are so many moments in the history of our site that wouldn’t have been possible without her and I’m thrilled to see her thriving with On3.”
