Josh Reed, a 6-foot-6 small forward out of Atlanta (Ga.) Pace Academy has committed to Cincinnati basketball for the class of 2022, he tells On3.

Reed is the Bearcats’ third commitment of the class. He joins four-star Daniel Skillings and three-star Sage Tolentino.

Furthermore, Reed chose Cincinnati over Northwestern, Boston College, Butler, and South Carolina.

Josh Reed on why he chose Cincinnati

“It was just the best fit for me,” Reed said. “To me, it’s definitely the best basketball program out of the schools I was considering. Also, my relationship with the coaches. I just had that feeling when I went up there…that feeling that it was the one. So I think it’s a good choice for me.”

What was the coaching staff’s recruiting pitch to Reed?

“They see me coming in and playing on the perimeter, on the wing as a 3,” Reed said. “The coaches emphasized how well I would fit in with their style of play on offense. They were on me the hardest and really showed me they wanted me there.”

How does Reed describe his game?

“I feel like I can do a little bit of everything on the court. Whether that’s shooting, rebounding, handling the ball. I can drive to score or drive to kick. But I feel like my shooting is the best part of my game.

What’s Reed most excited about?

“I’m just excited about the opportunity to play in college. Being able to play on TV every night. It’s going to be a lot different than high school so I’m really looking forward to it.”
