SG Josiah Johnson-Freeman talks early stages of his recruitment
Josiah Johnson-Freeman is a 6-foot-3 guard who is playing his sophomore season at Winston-Salem (NC) Christian School. Johnson-Freeman opened eyes this summer playing with the Team United program on Nike’s E15 Circuit. He averaged 10.4 points, 3.8 rebounds, 2.1 assists, and 1.1 steals per game in league play.
“I’m a slashing, defending, and sharp-shooting wing,” Johnson-Freeman told On3. “I have gotten a lot stronger this summer, gotten a lot quicker, and it’s helping me defend the ball better. I watch a lot of open-area guys like Jayson Tatum, the way he scores the ball.”
On3 was able to catch up with Josiah Johnson-Freeman after a recent live viewing to discuss his recruitment.

Josiah Johnson-Freeman talks recruitment
“I just got my first offer the other day,” Johnson-Freeman said. “Marshall offered me. I’m also hearing from schools like Wake Forest.”
MARSHALL: “They like my competitiveness and the way that I can shoot the ball.”
“I want to play for a coach that I can tell is, like, really interested in me,” Johnson-Freeman said. “A coach and a staff who talks with me consistently. I want to play in a system that fits my play style, where I can make decisions with the ball and pick up defensively for 94 feet.”
