4-star Joson Sanon is tracking among the best in his class
Joson Sanon is the 2025 On3 50 No. 32 player. The 6-foot-6 guard averaged 12.6 points during his freshman season at Fall River (MA) Durfee High. Sanon is the 2025 On3 Consensus No. 43.
“I’m patient in my game; it’s a lot of midrange and seeing the rim,” Sanon told On3. “I’ve grown a lot with my perimeter defense, and I’ve learned my spots and how to get to them. I watch a lot of Brad Beal, how he takes his time and gets to his spots.”
Sanon transferred to Rockingham (VT) Vermont Academy after a big summer with the BABC program on Nike’s EYBL 15u Circuit. On3 caught up with Joson Sanon at the recent National Prep Showcase to talk about the early stages of his recruitment.
“Right now, I’ve got offers from Marquette, Providence, UMass, Boston College, and Bryant,” Sanon said. “I’ve been on campus at Boston College and Providence.”
*editor’s note, Joson Sanon was offered by Iowa after this interview.
Sanon talks recruiting
Providence: “The campus was nice. I went to watch a practice, and it’s all about talking there; it’s all about the team, not just one individual player.
On defense, everyone is into it, talking and doing their part. They run stuff to get their wings shots in their spots, so I like that.”

Boston College: “It was nice there. Their practice was good; they have a lot of athletic, bigger players on their roster. Everything was good. New head coach Earl Grant has been really cool. I mean, he offered me a scholarship, obviously, after practice.”
Marquette: “They’ve been in touch with me a lot. They’re really close with me, not just contacting me, but talking with my family too.”
In Sanon’s words
“Loyalty will be big for me,” Sanon said. “I also want to go to a good program, one that wins. I’d like to play in a system that has a lot of space on the floor. Maybe one big in the paint, like four around one. Two bigs are ok too, but I just want to play with a lot of spacing.
“I want to hear from UNC; that’s a big one, and Syracuse.”
