Tyshawn Russell’s status a bit of a mystery
In the most recent depth chart put out by the South Carolina Gamecocks and head coach Shane Beamer, wide receiver Tyshawn Russell wasn’t listed at all, raising questions about his availability.
Despite that, as Beamer explained on the weekly SEC teleconference, Russell is available this week against Ole Miss and there isn’t an issue that he’s dealing with.
“Still on the team, working hard,” Beamer said, succinctly.
While it’s good for South Carolina fans to hear that Russell isn’t having an injury issue that’s keeping him out and that he’s still on the team, Beamer didn’t share more information than that about the situation. Because of that, it’s unclear why he’s not listed on the depth chart this week.
