4-star Juke Harris talks two official visits and sets a third
Juke Harris is the No. 21 player in the 2024 On3 150. The 6-foot-6 Salisbury (NC) High junior started his high school season with games of 40, 33, and 27 points.
“I feel I’ve developed in scoring around the rim,” Harris told On3. “Also, I’ve been really working on my pull-up shooting, from three and in the mid-range. I watch a lot of Kevin Durant and Devin Booker. They both know how to hit tough shots, and they have a creative handle to be able to get to those shots.”
With this type of production, the four-star has been a hot topic with college programs. On3 caught up with Juke Harris after a recent live viewing. He broke down his official visits and talked about the overall state of his recruitment.
“I’ve taken two official visits, to Houston and Tennessee,” Harris said. “I’ve been to NC State and Wake Forest on unofficials, and I have an official visit set up in January with Virginia Tech.”
Harris talks official visits
Houston: “They have a hard working group. Their coach is going to get after them if they make a mistake, hold them all accountable, and make sure they’re perfect. The coaching staff, I really like them. They use a lot of off ball screening and help defense. I feel like that fits my style.”
Tennessee: “They do a lot of stuff for guys off the ball. When I was on the official, they pulled up clips of how they play and how I play, and it looks so similar. They like scorers, especially shooters, and they tell me how much they like I can score the ball.”
Virginia Tech: “I watched them play against Charleston, and I got a chance to watch the whole game, not just highlights. I was able to see how they moved without the ball, played out of ball screens, and used down screens. It fits how I play.”

Harris talks unofficial visits
Wake Forest: “I haven’t been able to watch them play yet; hopefully, I will so. However, based on how they practice, they work hard, and the coach gets on them to make sure they get it right.”
NC State: “I watched their practice, and they get after it. But it has been a few months since I’ve been up there. I need to get back up there to see what it’s like.”
In Juke’s words
“I want to say I’d like to commit by the first week of my senior my ear, if not earlier,” Harris said. “I’ll be looking closely at the coaching staff and how the players get after it. I can play with or without the ball, so that won’t matter; it will come down to choosing a place where I feel like I will develop my game the most.
“The education part will be big for me. I want to do Sports Medicine, so making sure they have that program will be important.”
