2026 SG Kaden House talks recruitment
Kaden House made national noise as a freshman last season, as he averaged 25.9 points on 39.6 percent shooting from three. Now a sophomore at Scottsdale (AZ) Desert Mountain, the 6-foot-3 shooting guard is leading the team to a 19-7 record, 7-1 in conference play.
“I’m a play-maker,” House told On3. “I can shoot it really well and I’m going to make the right play. I rebound and go hard on defense. My shooting has really improved over the last year, I’m becoming a knock-down shooter. I watch a lot of my brother, Jaelen House at New Mexico. I’ll sit there and watch his highlights, and how hard he goes, and the tenacity he plays with.”
On3 was able to catch up with Kaden House recently to get an introductory feel for the early stages of his recruitment.
“I haven’t taken really any unofficial visits yet, and I haven’t set any up,” House said. “I’d say that we are hearing the most from New Mexico and Grand Canyon, right now. I have offers from like Michigan and Arizona State, but those two schools I would say are really heavy.”
Kaden House’s Bloodlines
Kaden House is the son of former NBA guard Eddie House. Eddie House played at Arizona State where he was the PAC 12 Player of the Year in 2000. He was drafted No. 37 overall in 2000 and went on to score over 5,300 career points in his 11 seasons.

Kaden’s older brother Jaelen House is a senior guard at New Mexico. Jaelen House has scored almost 1,600 career points and was named first-team Mountain West All-Defense last season.
“With my dad having been through all this, he has been able to help me get through it so far,” House said. He has been able to tell me the rights and the wrongs of the process. He and my brother have both gotten there, so they’re just teaching me through the process.”
At the end of the day
“I want to start going on visits and looking at schools soon,” House said. “Right now, I don’t really have a time frame, I haven’t really talked to my dad yet about that, but I’d like to start soon though.
“I want to go to a program where I have a good relationship with the coaches. I’ll want to go to a school where I have the freedom to be me. I can play in a system, and shoot, and pass. But I do want to go somewhere that will give me freedom. That and, having a strong relationship with the head coach will be big for me.”
